- The person making the LPA and choosing who may act for them.
- Attorney
- A person appointed to help make decisions, or to make them on the donor's behalf.
- Replacement attorney
- Someone who can step in if an original attorney can no longer act.
- Certificate provider
- An independent person who confirms the donor understands the document and is not under pressure.
- People to notify
- Optional people who are told when the LPA is sent for registration.
- Office of the Public Guardian
- The body that registers LPAs in England and Wales. A separate registration fee applies.
